FSc Part 1 (11th Class) — Foundation Year

FSc Part 1 introduces students to college-level concepts for the first time. The syllabus across subjects is foundational but demanding, especially for students transitioning from Matric.

Syllabus Highlights

• Physics: Measurement, Vectors, Motion, Forces, Work & Energy, Fluid Dynamics, Waves
• Chemistry: Atomic Structure, Periodicity, Chemical Bonding, States of Matter, Solutions

Paper Pattern (Part 1)

FSc Part 2 (12th Class) — The Critical Year

FSc Part 2 carries higher stakes. Board results from 12th class are used for university merit lists, with 40% weightage from 11th and 60% from 12th class marks in most federal and provincial universities.

Paper Pattern (Part 2)

Same structure as Part 1 — objective + subjective — but questions are often more application-based and numerically intensive.

Which Papers Matter More?

Both matter, but Part 2 matters more for university admission. NUMS, MDCAT, ECAT and most university merit lists weight 12th class results at 60%. However, a weak Part 1 result is harder to recover from because it directly lowers your combined FSc percentage.

1. Download separate past paper sets for Part 1 and Part 2 — never mix them.
2. For Part 1: focus on concept clarity. MCQs are often tricky concept tests.
3. For Part 2: focus on numericals and organic chemistry mechanisms.
